Based in Lausanne, the IMD Global Family Business Center has now been operational for more than 30 years. It was the first institute to focus on family businesses, their values, the principles they champion and their particular characteristics.
Partnership between Pictet and IMD
Since 2018, IMD and Pictet jointly developped two awards to promote the central role of family businesses in the economy.
Sustainability in Family Business Award
Pictet joined forces with IMD to celebrate family-owned businesses that stand out in their work and commitment towards sustainability. Together we launched the IMD-Pictet Sustainability in Family Business Award in 2019.
The winner of the 2020 IMD-Pictet Sustainability in Family Business Award is J.M. Huber Corporation. This distinction recognises its long-term strategy to embed sustainability at the core of their business.
Global Family Business Award
The IMD Global Family Business Award, sponsored by Pictet, has been established for more than 20 years. It celebrates excellence in family business and is widely regarded as the most prestigious award for successful global family enterprises.
The family group Grundfos was awarded the 2021 IMD Global Family Business Award, at the UNCTAD 7th World Investment Forum on Wednesday 20 October 2021.
